Captain Nick Reyes ( Brian Bloom, who also wrote the story), a Special Operations pilot with the Solar Associated Treaty Organization, is tasked with commanding the UNSA carrier Retribution (one of the few remaining ships from the UNSA's fleet) and its crew on a mission to launch a counter-attack against the SDF. Soon after, the SDF declares war on the UNSA and launches a surprise attack on Earth itself, crippling much of the UNSA's navy in the process. However, tensions soon emerge in the form of an organization dubbed the " Settlement Defense Front," which consists of disaffected colonists out on the frontier who begin quarreling with the UNSA over the rights to precious resources. In the future, having depleted Earth's natural resources, the nations of the world band together under the auspices of the " United Nations Space Alliance" and set out to colonize the farthest reaches of the solar system.

That's because every challenge you complete will earn you a different level of points, and these point equate to you levelling up your mission team.Īt Level 4, you'll learn 50 salvage, at level 14 you get 150, at level 20 you get 300, and at level 29 you get 400.Įvery time you open a rare supply crate using 30 keys, which you'll earn by levelling up and playing matches, you actually get a salvage bonus.Ī bit like in Destiny you can nab yourself some salvage by burning or breaking down any duplicate or unwanted gear you have. They will range both in objective and reward, but they're a great way to earn yourself some salvage. So don't forget to check in.įor every match you play you'll be given a few challenges that you have the option to complete. Whether it's keys, or salvage, there should be a lovely little parcel with your name on it for every day you play Infinite Warfare. One thing that's particularly great about Infinite Warfare's multiplayer is that there's a daily rewards scheme that gives you presents for your loyalty. Salvage is the stuff that lets you unlock prototype weapons and kit yourself out with the perfect loadout for your play style. But each one caters to a totally different play style, so make sure to know what each one is great for before you go in.Īnd don't forget, Payloads are special weapons or abilities that you'll be able to use mid-game by getting scorestreaks or a certain number of kills, while Traits are unique skills that you equip for the entirety of a match. When you first start playing the multiplayer, you'll be able to access three of these Combat Rigs out of a possible six. More XP means ranking up your player level, unlocking more gear, payloads and abilities for your Combat Rigs and generally learning the maps and the modes inside out.
Don't be disheartened by a rubbish kill:death ratio to begin with or that the other players are taking you out as soon as you've respawned, because even by participating in a match you're earning XP – even if you're totally rubbish.
This might sound stupid, but the more you play Infinite Warfare the better you'll get.
